Softball Recap: Johnson City Comes Up Short

Johnson City and Holland squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Johnson City had to settle for second. They lost 14-6 to the Hornets. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Eagles, who until this game were averaging 2.67 runs allowed.

Kathryn Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Ava Craig also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Johnson City and nudges their season record down to 16-3-2. As for Holland, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Johnson City nor Holland have any future games scheduled.
