Softball Recap: Oakton Comes Up Short

If Oakton was feeling good fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Westfield on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell just short of the Chantilly Chargers by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 9-7.

Oakton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Chantilly, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Coming up, Oakton will welcome James Madison at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warhawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Chantilly, they will head out to face off against Centreville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
