Volleyball Recap: Cooper City Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Cooper City and Mater Academy Charter squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Cooper City had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cowboys of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2017.

While Cooper City was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-12, 25-17.

Sophia Tellez paced Cooper City's offense, picking up seven kills. Tellez got some help from Devin Dillon and her 14 assists. Adrianna Nolen and Hayley Horowitz kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Cooper City's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Mater Academy Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Cooper City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mater Academy Charter, they will face off against St. Thomas Aquinas at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
