Football Recap: Lancaster Skates Past Eastside with Ease

Lancaster waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed past the Eastside Lions to the tune of 48-6. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Lions are ranked 989th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lancaster's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Walker, who rushed for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries. Walker didn't just play on offense: he also made two total tackles and defended three passes. Michael Marsenich was another key signal caller, throwing for 167 yards and two TDs.

Lancaster's run defense was locked in: Eastside could only muster zero yards per carry. The team can thank Main Brown for the heroic effort on defense: he. Lancaster didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 12.1.

Lancaster didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Michael Nwafor and Keanu Sosa. Sosa got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Eastside still got an impressive performance from Henry Anderson, who picked up 148 receiving yards and one score. Anderson showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 61 yards.

Lancaster now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Eastside, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lancaster is set to face off against their familiar foe Quartz Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 851 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, Eastside will square off against rival Antelope Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
