Baseball Game Preview: Glendale Vikings vs. Ferndale Yellow Jackets

The Glendale Vikings will challenge the Ferndale Yellow Jackets at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses dating back to last season for Glendale and five for Ferndale.

Things were looking good for Glendale after they put the first runs on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 11-1 to Moshannon Valley.

Meanwhile, Ferndale didn't have quite enough to beat Turkeyfoot Valley Area last Wednesday and fell 5-4.

Connor Hrivnak made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Maddex Chuklochak also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Glendale's record is now 0-6. As for Ferndale, their record now sits at 1-5.

Glendale took their victory against Ferndale in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
