Recap: Cedar Shoals Jaguars vs. Chestatee War Eagles
The Cedar Shoals Jaguars fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. Everything went their way against Chestatee on Friday as Cedar Shoals made off with a 45-21 win. That's another feather in the cap for Cedar Shoals, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Cedar Shoals was led to victory by Devin Hester and Anthony Hubbard. Hester gained 129 total yards and two touchdowns, while Hubbard threw for 159 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes. Kayden Scott made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Despite the loss, Chestatee still got an impressive performance from Benjamin Plemons, who rushed for 197 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry.
Cedar Shoals' victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Chestatee, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Cedar Shoals will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Hall at 7:30 p.m. As for Chestatee, they will head out on the road to face off against East Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Forsyth presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chestatee in Georgia (East Forsyth is ranked 203rd, while Chestatee is ranked 409th).
