West Springfield strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Fairfax Lions. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

While West Springfield won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-20, 27-25.

Nina Schweigert paced West Springfield's offense, picking up seven kills. Schweigert got some help from Sariyah Sadler and her 14 assists. Schweigert was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

West Springfield's record now sits at 8-0. As for Fairfax, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3.

After both having extra time off, West Springfield and Langley will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fairfax, they will challenge South Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
