Softball Recap: Monroe Snags Tenth Victory in Last 13 Games

Monroe's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They never let Marysville Getchell get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Addy Bryant's shutout, as she gave up just three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Vivian Knuckey, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tenny Oylear, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Monroe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marysville Getchell only posted a batting average of .120.

Monroe has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Marysville Getchell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Monroe nor Marysville Getchell have any future games scheduled.
