Basketball Recap: Crossroad Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Crossroad Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They managed a 58-54 victory over the Gadsden County Jaguars. Given the Scorpions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Jaguars are ranked 402nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crossroad Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jabari Boahen, who posted 21 points and six boards. Those 21 points gave Boahen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Forrest Dudley, who had 17 points.

Crossroad Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Gadsden County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.

Crossroad Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Mater Lakes Academy at 3:00 p.m. on January 25th. One thing working in Crossroad Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. Gadsden County has already played their next contest, a 77-75 victory against Munroe on the 18th.
