Basketball Game Preview: Oak Forest Bengals vs. Stagg Chargers

The Oak Forest Bengals will take on the Stagg Chargers in a tournament on Thursday.

Oak Forest is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Manteno just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They were dealt a 63-36 defeat at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Panthers are ranked 140th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Stagg, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-24 win over Bradley-Bourbonnais on Tuesday.

Stagg is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Oak Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Oak Forest suffered a grim 52-28 defeat to Stagg when the teams last played back in January. Can Oak Forest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
