Basketball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Comes Up Short

Pinecrest Academy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 41-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Osborne Cardinals. The Paladins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Among those leading the charge was Camielle Braswell, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 18 points and three steals. Mina Ly was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 13 boards.

Pinecrest Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Osborne, with the win, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-9.

Pinecrest Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Excel Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Pinecrest Academy is facing Excel Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Excel Christian Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Osborne, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-35 defeat against Dalton on the 26th.
