The Crystal City Javelinas narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the Hondo Owls  15-13. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Crystal City considering their one-run performance the  game before.
  Selma Flores was a standout: she scored four  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.  Chasity Martinez was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 3-for-6.
 On Hondo's side,  Ainsley Bohlen was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 4-for-5 with a  home run, five  RBI,  and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Aly Estes, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while going 1-for-5.
 Crystal City's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Hondo, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crystal City will take on Cotulla at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Crystal City: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Cotulla has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
