Recap: Washington Pam Pack vs. Greene Central Rams
The Washington Pam Pack's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their tenth straight loss. They fell just short of Greene Central by a score of 58-56. Washington has not had much luck with Greene Central recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Washington still got an impressive performance from Breanna Perry, who scored 31 points. That was a full 55.4% of Washington's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Thomas, who scored 12 points.
Leading Greene Central to victory were An'nysha Wooten and Arlisha Mason. Wooten dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Mason scored 20 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mason has scored all season. Sykiah Lancaster was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six assists.
Washington's defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Greene Central, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
Washington will look to defend their home court on Friday against SouthWest Edgecombe at 6:00 p.m. SouthWest Edgecombe presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Washington in North Carolina (SouthWest Edgecombe is ranked 131st, while Washington is ranked 395th). As for Greene Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Farmville Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
