Softball Recap: Chesapeake Panthers vs. Oak Hill Oaks

Chesapeake can finally bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Oak Hill Oaks as the Chesapeake Panthers made off with an 18-3 victory. Chesapeake's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

HANNAH WEBB made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit (and not a single walk). WEBB has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in six consecutive pitching appearances. WEBB was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, Kaydence Easthom was a standout: she went 4-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and three doubles. SIDNEY FULLER was another key contributor, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and three RBI.

Chesapeake's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-17. As for Oak Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Chesapeake will head out on the road to take on Wellston at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wellston will roll in looking for their 21st straight victory, something Chesapeake surely won't give up without a fight. Oak Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
