Mankato East put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Winona Winhawks get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Kylinn Stangl's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ella Fugazzi was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Ella Hudspith also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mankato East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Mankato East's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Winona, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mankato East will square off against Faribault at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Winona, they will take on Owatonna at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
