Football Recap: Montgomery Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Montgomery kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 76-50 to the Grant Cougars. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Montgomery's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Christian, who rushed for 73 yards and three TDs, and also caught one touchdown. Another signal caller making a difference was Mason Jordan, who threw for 226 yards and three touchdowns.

Looking ahead, Montgomery will head out on the road to take on Pickering at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grant, they will host Buckeye at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
