Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Catholic Celtics vs. Peters Township Indians

The Trinity Catholic Celtics will head out on the road to challenge the Peters Township Indians at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Trinity Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.

Peters Township is hoping to do what Lake Region couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Trinity Catholic's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Trinity Catholic really took it to Lake Region for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-31 victory. The Celtics pushed the score to 56-15 by the end of the third, a deficit the Thunder cut but never quite recovered from.

Trinity Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ja'Niya Corbin out in front who posted 16 points along with seven boards and three steals. Corbin is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alessa Washington, who had 12 points and seven steals.

Meanwhile, Peters Township is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Strongsville. Peters Township was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to Strongsville. The Indians' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Trinity Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Peters Township, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
