Volleyball Recap: Springfield Catholic Takes a Loss

Springfield Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Strafford Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fighting Irish of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-12, 25-4.

Payten Coulter was the offensive standout of the contest as she had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces gave her a new career-high. Trista Vanhorn also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Springfield Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Strafford, they pushed their record up to 12-1-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Springfield Catholic will head out on the road to take on Reeds Spring at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Strafford, they will take on Lockwood in a tournament on Saturday.
