Softball Recap: Arp Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Arp can now relate to. They came up short against the Hooks Hornets on Thursday, falling 15-8. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Tigers, who until this contest were averaging 3.19 runs allowed.

Avery Littlepage led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kaitlynn Raymond, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Arp's loss dropped their record down to 26-9-2. As for Hooks, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 24-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Hornets beat Arp by a score of 17-2 later that day.
