Volleyball Recap: Worthington Christian Warriors vs. Buckeye Valley Barons

Worthington Christian lost against Buckeye Valley back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors came up short against the Barons, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warriors have suffered since September 2nd.

Anika Van Arendonk paced Worthington Christian's offense, picking up eight kills. Van Arendonk got some help from Vienna Lee and her 14 assists. Amira Van Arendonk controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Buckeye Valley found their leader in sophomore Delaney Lozier, who had 15 digs and three aces. Another player making a difference was Payton Loedding, who had 15 assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Worthington Christian and nudges their season record down to 8-8. As for Buckeye Valley, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Looking ahead, Worthington Christian will host Columbus Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Buckeye Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Grandview Heights on the 20th.
