Volleyball Recap: Cheyenne Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Cheyenne had to endure a nine-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Desert Pines Jaguars on Thursday. The Desert Shields not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 29th (when they won 3-0).

Cheyenne walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-11, 25-20, 25-18.

Leading Cheyenne to victory were Player #6 and Rebeca Anderson. Player #6 had ten aces, while Anderson had 17 assists. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Jophielle Kovach also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Cheyenne was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 25 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Cheyenne's win bumped their record up to 7-24. As for Desert Pines, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.
