Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Defeat Ends Rocky Mountain's Winning Streak

Rocky Mountain lost against Centennial back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Rocky Mountain Grizzlies fell 77-68 to the Centennial Patriots. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (57), the Grizzlies still had to take the loss.

Centennial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabe Eddins, who went 10 of 16 en route to 24 points in addition to six assists and five boards. The dominant performance gave Eddins a new career-high in assists. Chase Tibbets was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds.

The defeat snapped Rocky Mountain's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-9 record. As for Centennial, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rocky Mountain will take on Eagle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rocky Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Eagle likes a good challenge. As for Centennial, they will face off against Mountain View at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Centennial has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
