Baseball Recap: Tuscaloosa Home Educators' Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

With a playoff win on the line, Tuscaloosa Home Educators rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Ezekiel Academy Knights. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Jackson Sodergren was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. Tuscaloosa Home Educators is 5-2 when Sodergren posts two or more runs, but 2-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, Shelton Milligan was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

Tuscaloosa Home Educators' win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Ezekiel Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.

Coincidentally, Tuscaloosa Home Educators and Ezekiel Academy will both be playing Evangel Christian the next time they take the field. The Knights will head out to face the Lightning on Friday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
