Softball Recap: Seymour Takes a Loss

Seymour fell victim to Luxemburg-Casco and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 2-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Thunder were not able to get on the board.

Kendra Rettler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Seymour has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Luxemburg-Casco, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seymour will take on Menasha at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Luxemburg-Casco, they will head out to challenge Oconto Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
