Baseball Recap: Clear Creek Victorious

Clear Creek took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Bishop Machebeuf, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Golddiggers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Buffaloes 2-1. This was payback for the Golddiggers, who suffered a 10-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Landon Lewis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on nine hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Clear Creek is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Clear Creek's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Huff, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

The win made it two in a row for Clear Creek and bumps their season record up to 8-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Bishop Machebeuf, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-9 record.

As of now, neither Clear Creek nor the Buffaloes have any future games scheduled.
