Recap: Lincoln Trojans vs. Arnold Marlins
On Friday, The Lincoln Trojans got themselves on the board against the Arnold Marlins, but the Arnold Marlins never followed suit. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 63-0 victory over the Marlins. Given Lincoln's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Arnold is ranked 484th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lincoln's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian "deuce" Lawrence led the charge by rushing for 37 yards and a touchdown, while also picking up 39 receiving yards. Lincoln also got a significant boost from Jashawn Washington, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.
The win was the third in a row for Lincoln, bringing their record for this year to 7-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45 points. As for Arnold, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Chiles at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Chiles is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Arnold, they will head out on the road to face off against Rickards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rickards is on a four-game streak of home losses, Arnold a six-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
