Manteca (Calif.) notched eight points on top of its 27-point lead going into the fourth quarter to win against Los Banos (Calif.) 42-7.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Alex Laurel in the first quarter, the Buffaloes led 20-7 at the half.
Manteca grew its lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Joe Menzel.
Los Banos' lone touchdown came on a 44-yard run in the second quarter.
The defeat comes as a step back for Los Banos, who notched a 47-21 victory over Roosevelt in its previous outing. The victory was a step in the right direction for the Buffaloes, who were coming off a 28-27 defeat at the hands of Wilcox in its previous game. The loss broke Los Banos' two-game winning streak.
