Volleyball Game Preview: River Ridge Timberwolves vs. Benton Zephyrs

River Ridge is a perfect 10-0 against Benton since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Timberwolves will look to defend their home court against the Zephyrs at 7:00 p.m. Benton took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on River Ridge, who comes in off a win.

River Ridge proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Potosi.

River Ridge was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 21-25, 17-25, 25-10, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Benton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to Cassville. While the Zephyrs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Comets 25-14 in the first set.

Benton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-21.

Benton's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for River Ridge, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6.

Everything went River Ridge's way against Benton in their previous meeting on September 9th, as River Ridge made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do the Zephyrs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
