Football Game Preview: Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets vs. Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey

The Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets will head out on the road to square off against Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Rush-Henrietta nor Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Rush-Henrietta's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against Fairport by a score of 13-0. Those 13 points were actually the fewest the Royal Comets have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Rush-Henrietta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Imani Wagstaff, who rushed for 149 yards. Wagstaff's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 149 rushing yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Evan Mangone, who threw for 117 yards and one touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against Webster Thomas, falling 41-13. While losing is never fun, Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 395th, while Webster Thomas is ranked 67th).

Rush-Henrietta's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.0 points over those games. As for Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
