Softball Recap: Pennsville Memorial Picks Up 14th Straight Win at Home

Pennsville Memorial entered their tilt with Williamstown on Monday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the Braves. Ten seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Lily Edwards, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one triple. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Avery Watson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pennsville Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Pennsville Memorial pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average this season. As for Williamstown, they moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
