Baseball Game Preview: El Camino Colts vs. Carlmont Scots

The El Camino Colts will head out on the road to square off against the Carlmont Scots at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

El Camino can't be to happy about their upcoming road match considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Tuesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Capuchino. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Carlos Alcala was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Adrian I?iguez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Carlmont gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Scots as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Carlmont saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Webster, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
