Softball Game Preview: Trigg County Wildcats vs. Marshall County Marshals

Trigg County hasn't had much luck against Marshall County recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Wildcats will square off against the Marshals at 9:00 a.m.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Trigg County's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madisonville-North Hopkins on Thursday. The Wildcats' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Marshall County let Caldwell County stack four runs on them in the seventh inning on Thursday but luckily Marshall County prevailed anyway. The Marshals narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Tigers 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Marshals have posted since April 28th.

The win made it two in a row for Marshall County and bumps their season record up to 32-6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Trigg County, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-14.

Trigg County might still be hurting after the 10-3 loss they got from Marshall County when the teams last played back in March. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
