Basketball Recap: Albany Gets the Win

Albany hadn't done well against Hawley recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lions walked away with a 37-27 win over the Bearcats. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Bearcats back in December of 2025, they had to take a 56-31 loss.

Albany can attribute much of their success to Zayne Lefevre, who posted 19 points and eight boards. The dominant performance also gave Lefevre a new career-high in blocks (two). Keeley Britting was another key player, putting up four points.

Albany's record now sits at 5-21. As for Hawley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season.

Coincidentally, Albany and Hawley will both be playing Stamford the next time they take the court. The Bearcats will host the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
