Basketball Recap: Sterling Comes Up Short

Sterling lost against Remington back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sterling Black Bears were dealt a 57-28 loss at the hands of the Remington Broncos. While losing is never fun, the Black Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Broncos are ranked 44th).

This is the second loss in a row for Sterling and nudges their season record down to 3-14. As for Remington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season.

Coming up, Sterling will look to defend their home court on Monday against Central Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. As for Remington, they will challenge Sedgwick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Remington is facing Sedgwick at the right time seeing as Sedgwick is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
