Softball Recap: Hawkins Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Hawkins barely beat Fruitvale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks blew past the Bobcats 10-2 on Thursday. The game marked the Hawks' most dominant victory of the season.

The team relied heavily on Taetum Smith, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karsyn Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Hawkins was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. They are 7-1-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win was the fourth in a row for Hawkins, bringing their record up to 15-10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fruitvale, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12-1.

As of now, neither Hawkins nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
