Peyton is a perfect 6-0 against Byers since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Panthers will square off against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Peyton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Peyton took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Rye with a sharp 9-1 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Thunderbolts recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Noah Martin and Bryce Love made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Martin didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Love pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Martin has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Martin scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Love scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Martin a new career-high in doubles (two).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Stewart, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
Peyton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rye only posted a batting average of .080.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Byers' offense. They came up short against Denver Christian on Monday, falling 11-0. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Thunder recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Byers saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Ebert, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.
Peyton pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Byers, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Byers' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Peyton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. It's a different story for Byers, though, as they've only averaged .256. Will they be able to contain Peyton's hitters?
Peyton took their win against Byers when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
