After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blacklick Valley, Harmony Area was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Penns Manor Comets 16-8. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Owls as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Parker Maseto and Hunter Pearce made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Maseto struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off eight hits. Meanwhile, Pearce tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Maseto went 4-for-5 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Pearce got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double. That's the most hits Maseto has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddox Hugill, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Pearce, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Harmony Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Penns Manor, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Looking ahead, Harmony Area will head out to challenge Moshannon Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Penns Manor, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Homer-Center at 4:30 p.m.
