Sabino is 7-1 against Safford since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Sabino will host Safford at 5:00 p.m. Sabino comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Friday, Sabino came up short against Benjamin Franklin and fell 6-1.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Safford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over Rincon/University on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Carlos Arbizo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 5.2 innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Safford: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-3 otherwise.

Arbizo wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Goodman, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Safford is 4-1 when Goodman posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

Safford hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rincon/University struck out 12 times.

Sabino's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Safford, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
