Basketball Recap: Corner Victorious

Corner proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 25) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They escaped with a win against the Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Eagles by the margin of a single free throw, 66-65. That's more bragging rights for the Yellow Jackets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The win (which was Corner's third in a row) raised their record to 15-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points over those games. As for Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corner and Good Hope will round out the year against one another at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. The Yellow Jackets will be up against the Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.07 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, they will finish 2025 at home by hosting Springville at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
