Softball Recap: Sotomayor WILDCATS vs. Holmes Huskies
After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Sotomayor was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holmes Huskies. The WILDCATS were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 18-17.
Sotomayor saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shayla Velez, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
Sotomayor dropped their record down to 7-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Holmes, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-9.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sotomayor will take on rival Stevens at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Holmes is set to square off against their familiar foe Harlan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
