Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Weston Jackson and Chase Guevara Lead Lytle to Victory

Lytle won the last time they faced Carrizo Springs and things went their way on Friday too. The Pirates managed a 20-14 victory over the Wildcats.

A big part of Lytle's win came down to the chemistry between Weston Jackson and his top target Chase Guevara. Jackson threw for 167 yards and two touchdowns while Guevara picked up 132 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Guevara was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 57 yards.

The victory got Lytle back to even at 2-2. As for Carrizo Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

The Pirates are facing the Mavericks at the right time seeing as the Mavericks are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Carrizo Springs, they will challenge Crystal City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Javelinas' defense has only allowed 13.2 points per game this season, so the Wildcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
