Soccer Game Preview: Pacific Grove vs. Marina

The Pacific Grove Breakers will challenge the Marina Mariners at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Marina will have to contend with a Pacific Grove squad hungry for a victory, something the team hasn't seen yet this season. Neither Pacific Grove nor Monte Vista Christian could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Breakers have been dealt a draw since back in December of 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Victor Gaspar Ojeda, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Marina was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Carmel an easy 11-0 win.

Marina's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. Pacific Grove's draw makes their record 0-3-2 this season.
