Basketball Recap: Sam Houston Comes Up Short

Sam Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 44-37 defeat to the Arlington Colts. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Texans of the 61-51 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Sam Houston's record now sits at 7-14. As for Arlington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sam Houston will face off against Lamar at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Arlington, they will venture away from home to face off against Bowie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
