Softball Recap: McHenry Takes a Loss

If McHenry was riding high fresh off their 17-4 takedown of Jacobs on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors came up short against the Huntley Red Raiders on Wednesday, falling 17-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warriors have suffered since April 13th.

Danica McCarthy stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Frederick, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

McHenry's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Huntley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. McHenry will square off against rival Crystal Lake Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Huntley is set to challenge their familiar foe Hampshire at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
