Flag Football Recap: Miramonte Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Miramonte had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-8 to make it seven. They came up short against the Alhambra Bulldogs, falling 38-12. Having soared to a lofty 40 points in the game before, the Matadors couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Alhambra, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.2 points on average over those games.

Alhambra found their leader in freshman Courtney Reed, who rushed for 67 yards and one TD, and also threw for 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Miramonte will face off against rival Mt. Diablo at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Alhambra is set to take on their familiar foe Las Lomas at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bulldogs 10.7, the Knights 6.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
