The Carroll Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Delphi Community Oracles at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Carroll will be strutting in after a victory while Delphi Community will be coming in after a defeat.
Carroll not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 15, 2024 (when they won 10-0). Everything went their way against Tri-Central as they made off with an 11-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their one-run performance the game before.

Xavier Williams made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Carroll got a massive performance out of Travis Tinsman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was Tinsman's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Zinn, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Carroll was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri-Central only posted a batting average of .143.
Meanwhile, Delphi Community didn't have quite enough to beat Tri-Central on Wednesday and fell 4-3.
Delphi Community also got a good showing from Landon Stevens, who kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Stevens has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Brett Huffman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run.
Carroll moved to 2-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Delphi Community, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Carroll came out on top in a nail-biter against Delphi Community in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
