Basketball Recap: Holly Pond Takes a Loss

Holly Pond saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Springville Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Tigers are ranked 107th).

Holly Pond now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Springville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holly Pond will challenge Locust Fork at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Springville, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Springville Tigers duke it out with the Southside Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Springville has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three matchups.
