Recap: Stanton County Trojans vs. Sublette Larks
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Gray, the Stanton County Trojans were happy to have found some success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 44-25 win over Sublette. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Stanton County also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Stanton County found their leader in underclassman Avery Scott, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 20 rebounds. Scott is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexy Martinez, who scored ten points.
The win got Stanton County back to even at 4-4. As for Sublette, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Stanton County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Southwestern Heights at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Sublette, they will square off against Wichita County at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Wichita County will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
