Baseball Recap: Valley View Takes a Loss

If Valley View was feeling good fresh off their 8-1 takedown of Lakeside on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Paloma Valley Wildcats on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Cainon Wrisley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple. Deavon Mahoney was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Valley View's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Paloma Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley View will welcome Liberty at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Paloma Valley, they will host Poly at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Bears have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
