Basketball Game Preview: Willsboro Central Warriors vs. Keene Central Beavers

Willsboro Central and Keene Central are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Willsboro Central Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Keene Central Beavers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Willsboro Central will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Willsboro Central is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against AuSable Valley on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Willsboro Central was beaten by AuSable Valley 81-14. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-7.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Keene Central's good fortune finally ran out back in December of 2024. They took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wells. The Beavers were down 53-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Willsboro Central will have to contain Asa Sprague as he made an impact in Keene Central's last game. He went 9 of 12 on his way to 19 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Peter Robjent, who posted 14 points along with seven rebounds and seven blocks.

Keene Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Willsboro Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Willsboro Central was taken down by Keene Central 74-40 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Keene Central's Vann Morrelli, who had 33 points.
